School Committee · Meeting of April 7, 2026
Lee School Committee unanimously adopts a $13,914,836 budget for fiscal 2027, a 3.33 percent increase. Superintendent Schardt said the plan leans on up to $900,000 in school choice revenue and $338,786 in circuit breaker reimbursement after the town asked the district to cut about $200,000 from its budget midyear. "We have been advised by DESE and by our state association to plan for a 15 percent reduction in Title I funding for FY27," Schardt told the committee.
The board also approved $364,220.82 in accounts payable warrants and a $760,552.16 payroll warrant, each with one abstention, adopted new sensitive-materials teaching policies, and authorized $120,000 from the school choice account to replace a failing water heater with tankless units. Enrollment stands at 637 students, with a net gain of 37 school choice students.
