Lee Planning Board Endorses Two Lot-Division Plans, Preps Bylaw Fix
Planning Board · Meeting of May 11, 2026
Lee Planning Board endorses two lot divisions and preps a floor amendment for Thursday's town meeting. Land Use Department staffer Brooke told the board a special-permit application is in for a Marriott-affiliated hotel project that would replace an existing motel with a building up to four stories and 50 feet, calling the coming public hearing likely "very contentious." The board unanimously endorsed plans for 765 Fairview Street, presented by Brian Selleck for Katy Street LLC, and for 730/734 Pleasant Street, presented by surveyor Pat McHolgan for owner Gordon Bailey. Brooke said MassDOT has ordered contractors to clear two staging lots near the outlets "no later than June 1st." The board also began preparing for a new state clean-energy permitting law, discussing a possible special town meeting near October 1.
The meeting closed with a farewell to outgoing member Peg after roughly 10 years of service.
