Lee panel continues hotel review, cites unpermitted fuel tank

Lee conservation board challenges a hotel developer's flood-zone impervious surface math. Abutter Marilyn Wyatt pressed engineer Brian Sider on the 165 Housatonic Street redevelopment, getting him to confirm impervious surface would rise 4,100 square feet across the full riverfront zone even as it falls near the immediate bank — "what's the opposite of an improvement, a worsening of conditions," she said. The board continued that review, plus a request to clean up a former paper mill on 24th Street, to August 5.

Separately, commissioners found an above-ground fuel tank installed without permits in the floodplain at 100 Taringham Road, with a recusing member disclosing a nearby property interest, and voted unanimously to send the installer a violation letter while allowing an after-the-fact permit application.
